Within communities there are many organisations that can provide a wide range of services for people in need of practical assistance, irrespective of the reason that help may be required. Some of these services can be useful to people with a cancer diagnosis. The information about practical community support is organised in two groups:
Suffolk-wide support: organisations that provide specific services available across the county or districts within the county, for example advice on employment, meals on wheels or help returning home from hospital
Local support groups: these groups provide support within a specific town or village, typically providing assistance with collection of shopping, collection of prescriptions, etc. In more limited cases there may also be help with transport, dog walking, etc.
